Enemy of women

February 19th, 2012 § 0

A man may be dangerous to a woman – considering his natural instincts towards her body and her uneasiness towards such instincts.

But when it comes to real enmity – the one that develops out of ego, possessiveness and jealousy. The one where you want to destroy each other over the time – “A woman’s real enemy would always be another woman.”

And history reveals that out of such an enmity biggest prices are always paid by men.

Sneca on life and death

October 25th, 2011 § 0

The largest portion of our life
passes while we are doing ill,
a goodly share while we are
doing nothing, and the whole
while we are doing that which
is not to the purpose. What
man can you show me
who places any value on
his time, who reckons the
worth of each day, who
understands that he is
dying daily? For we are
mistaken when we look
forward to death; the major
portion of death has already
passed. Whatever years be
behind us are in death’s
hands. –Seneca

Limitations

June 20th, 2011 § 0

so-demotivational-posters-limitations

Don’t ever believe anyone who says “There is no limit to what you can do”…or, “Nothing is Impossible”…those are loosers or people with self-motives….They are telling you the half baked truth.

Winners are those who know their limitations, who respect their limitations. They know whats there in their quiver. They concentrate on “strengths” and succeed.

Those who deny “limitations”, when fail at something, they blame it on god by saying “must be god’s will”.  Those are the cowards, they dont have the guts to accept that something somewhere was beyond their boundaries. And next, they need to work on their limitations to expand those boundaries.

Best thing is to accept your limitations. knowing your boundaries and achieving your dreams without crossing those boundaries. And when those boundaries become obstacles in your quest towards achieving your dreams, work hard to expand those boundaries.

In battle, in forest, at the precipice in the mountains,
On the dark great sea, in the midst of javelins and arrows,
In sleep, in confusion, in the depths of shame,
The good deeds a man has done before defend him.

5 things every client expects from their system integrator

June 16th, 2011 § 0

Every clients expects this from an ideal system integrator

Be responsive to each opportunity. We have facilitated an integrator being invited to submit a bid, only to have them not respond – at all. They should make every effort to submit a bid. If they don’t believe that it is in their interests to submit a bid, they should explain their decision. We call a second-time or non-responsive integrator only to use him for “rate comparisons”

Don’t get greedy. This is especially important if an installer believes they already have a leg up on the competition, or even a lock. We generally intervene if an installer’s bid is unrealistically high. I have never failed in getting a greedy bid disqualified or otherwise set aside. A fair profit is never a problem.

Be diligent and responsive when problems arise. During construction-period services, it is reassuring to a consulting engineer if the installing company is diligent in handling problems constructively. Whether the problem is real or merely one of perception, specifiers remember integrators who were constructive in how problems were handled. Finger-pointing and defensive postures are also remembered – negatively.

Read the specifications. One of the most common problems is that employees of installers often never bother to read the specifications, or they assume that the engineer and owner don’t mean what they say. We do mean it. An engineer’s job is to enforce specifications. Perhaps the most glaring failure is to ignore specifications that require “entirely complete” submittals that are delivered “at one time.” I don’t even bother to look at submittals that are incomplete or arrive in pieces. I send them back without review. That will eventually cost the integrator money.

Don’t back-stab. If there are problems, they can all be worked out one way or another. Accusing the consulting engineer of problems to the owner’s reps will be long remembered by the engineer. If you must criticize, do it in the open – but you better be right and that better be the only way the problem can be addressed.
